Ukraine is becoming a global leader in the export of agricultural products

Already, Ukraine ranks first in the world in the export of barley, and its potential in the export of wheat, corn and sunflower seeds are growing rapidly, according to specialized agroportal

In addition, in 2011, Ukraine, overtaking Brazil, is the third after the U.S. and Argentina corn supplier in the world. And in 2012, began importing Ukrainian corn and China - the world's largest consumer of this product.

According to Erste Bank, in 2011, Ukraine has also become the largest exporter of sunflower, large amounts of which are available, particularly in India. 

Together, in 2012, the Ukrainian agricultural exports increased by almost 40%, reaching 17 billion U.S. dollars, said the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk. 

He also said that the Ukrainian agriculture produces twice as much as is consumed in the domestic market. For comparison, the UK produces only 60% of the food consumed in the country - the rest Albion to import. 

What else is rich potential of our farmers? Among the key positions of the Ukrainian agricultural exports in January-October 2012 were meat, fish, dairy products, poultry, vegetables, vegetable oil, sugar, wine, nuts, apples, and 6.7 million tons of wheat for a total of about 1.8 billion U.S. dollars. The main buyers of Ukrainian agricultural products in 2012 were the EU and the CIS.
